National Registry Certification examinations are intended to evaluate the competence of EMS practitioners at a variety of levels: Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), and Paramedic.
The examinations address content areas defined and validated by subject matter experts, educators, and individuals working in EMS fields. As examinations provide only one source of information regarding examinee competence, they are used in conjunction with other indicators of training and experience in the granting of certification.

First time test takers who wish to schedule online must create a Pearson VUE Web account. When creating your account and scheduling your test, you will need your National Registry Candidate ID from the Authorization to Test letter National Registry sent you. Appointments may be made up to one business day in advance.
